Kings thump Coyotes, 6-2 Kings score four in second period to brush aside COyotes

In Glendale Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Kings scored four goals in the second period and went on to thrash the Arizona Coyotes, 6-2.

Jake Muzzin, Alec Martinez, Vincent Lecavalier, Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown, two goals, scored for the Kings in the rout.

The Kings improved to 31-16-3 on the season and come of the All-Star break looking to fend off challenges from the Coyotes, San Jose Sharks and the surging Anaheim Ducks in the Pacific Division.LA Kings 3rd

Jonathan Quick made 23 saves in the win and was sharp after surrendering the firs goal of the game to Jordan Martinook in the first period.

That goal held up into the second period before Muzzin’s goal in the middle frame.

Anthony Duclair restored the Coyotes lead three minutes later.

But after that goal the house fell in on the Coyotes as the Kings five unanswered goals.

Louis Domingue took the loss for the Coyotes who fell to 2-5-1 in their eight games; he made 20 saves in the loss.
