In Anaheim, Kevin Fiala hit for a double in the first period for the Los Angeles Kings in a 5-2 win over the Ducks on Friday.
“We did a great job just staying above them,” Fiala said. “We didn’t give them so many chances. Talbot was there when we needed him and so, overall, I think it was a good team win.”
It was the ninth straight road win to open the season for the Kings.
Cam Talbot made 29 saves in the win.
LA improved to 12-3-5.
The Kings hit for two power play goals in the first period to grab a 2-0 lead.

The Ducks dropped to 9-11-0 off their fifth straight loss.
“We’re fighting a clawing to get points,” Anaheim coach Greg Cronin said. “We’ve just got to keep finding ways to improve and build on things.”

“We ( Phillip Danault )have the same type of vision,” he said. “All three guys are really fast going to the net. We cycle the puck, we grind down and also, defensively, we do a good job, so it’s been good.”

Anze Kopitar at 3:21 of the third to push the lead to 5-1.
