“In the third period, we didn’t generate much because they didn’t play with any risk at all,” Flames captain Mark Giordano said. “It’s tough to win many games when you’re not putting more than one in the net. We’ve just got to find a way to score some ugly ones.”

Ryan Getzlaf returned to the lineup after missing two games and collected three assists, Corey Perry also added three assists in the win.

Chad Johnson took the loss for the Fames on 17 saves.

“It seems like we clean up one area and another hole breaks open. If you’re not going to win special teams, most nights you’re not going to win.” Flames head coach Glen Gulutzan said after the loss. “I thought we made a couple turnovers that cost us, probably only five in the game. The whole game we managed the puck well, but the ones we didn’t ended up in the back of the net.”

Jonathan Bernier picked up his first win for Anaheim.
