TORONTO, ONT (Dec. 7, 2019) – Teemu Kivihalme’s third period goal was the only tally of the period and held up as the game-winner, as the Toronto Marlies (16-4-3) held on for a 3-2 win over the San Antonio Rampage (10-8-7) on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The Rampage outshot the Marlies 15-3 in the final period, but goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo held the Rampage off the board for his ninth win of the season. The Marlies are 11-1-0 at home, the best home record in the AHL.
Jordan Kyrou and Tanner Kaspick both scored for the Rampage, while Ville Husso made 14 saves in a losing effort.
At 3:13 of the third period, Kivihalme gave the Marlies their first lead of the game. Jesper Lindgren fed Kivihalme for a one-timer at the right point, a shot that deflected off Rampage forward JJ Piccinich and through Husso for Kivihalme’s second goal of the season.
The Rampage earned their only power play of the contest with 4:20 left in regulation, and they pulled Husso during the man-advantage, but they could not score the equalizer.
Kyrou opened the scoring for the Rampage at 8:01 of the first period, the seventh consecutive game in which the Rampage have scored first. Derrick Pouliot fired a shot from the left point that Kyrou deflected. Kaskisuo made the initial save, but Kyrou potted the rebound for his ninth goal of the season.
Pouliot has points in six straight games.
Kenny Agostino tied the game with his first of two goals on the night. Rasmus Sandin took a feed from Jeremy Bracco in the high slot and found Agostino driving the net from the left wing for Agostino’s 12th goal of the season at 12:07 of the first period.
San Antonio regained the lead 56 seconds later when Kaspick redirected a Jake Dotchin point shot past Kaskisuo for his third goal of the year.
At 9:49 of the second period, Agostino struck again with a one-timer from the right circle off a Bracco feed, his ninth goal in ten games.
The Rampage killed off all four Toronto power plays, including two 5-on-3 power plays that lasted a combined 55 seconds in the second period.
