In Anaheim, William Karlsson‘s second goal of the came at 3:23 of extra time to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 win over the Ducks on Saturday night.
Karlsson scored in the third period to give the Knights a 2-1 lead.
“That’s some steep competition over there,” Anaheim head coach Dallas Eakins said of Vegas.
Marc-Andre Fleury made 28 saves in the win.

“Me and Theo always say before the games, ‘These guys didn’t want us,’ so there’s always some added motivation for these games,” Karlsson said.
Adam Henrique forced the extra session when he tied the game up at 2-2. Henrique was playing in his first game since being waived by the Ducks seven days ago. He went unclaimed.
“I put it on myself to play well,” Henrique said. “Everything else is out of my hands, so I just focused on my game, what I needed to do.” 
Alex Pietrangelo also scored for Vegas in regulation.
Rickard Rakell also scored for Anaheim.
“It’s easy to get very frustrated, and it has been a frustrating time, especially since I felt that I’ve had the scoring chances and had the shots on net, but just not that final touch to make the puck go in,” Rakell said. “But I can either look at the past and be really frustrated about it, or just try to take it game by game and try to improve.”
John Gibson made 24 saves in the loss.
