Kirill Kaprizov will be out 3-4 weeks for the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury.
The forward left midway through the third period of a 4-2 win against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday after being taken down to the ice by forward Logan Stanley. Kaprizov appeared to favor his left leg as he skated toward the tunnel.
Kaprizov leads the Wild in goals (39) and points (74) in 65 games this season. He is second with 35 assists.
“Honestly, I have not been in the room, so I don’t know yet,” coach Dean Evason said after the game when asked about the injury. “He was able to skate off, so I guess if there’s a positive that was one of them.”
Minnesota (37-21-7) is tied for first in the Central Division with the Dallas Stars and has an 11 game-point streak (9-0-2). The Wild next play at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.
