Kane’s magic sends Hawks past Montreal, 3-2

In Chicago Sunday, an epic match between the Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens ended with a highlight reel goal from Patrick Kane to give the Hawks a 3-2 win.

Marian Hossa had tied the game at 2-2 with a goal about five minutes ahead of Kane’s.

“I tried to make a play and go around the defenseman,” Kane said. “Kind of got tripped up, and at that point you’re just kind of throwing it at the net and hoping something happens and I got lucky there. It was nice to see it go in.”

Shea Weber and Andrei Markov scored for the Habs who had a 2-1 lead heading to the third period.

Al Montoya took the loss 32 saves, 18 in the third period.  Corey Crawford got the win 23 saves.

“There’s not many guys that can make that play. He’s one of two and [Pavel Datsyuk] is already gone, so heck of a goal,” Montoya said Kane’s game-winner.

Chicago is 9-0-2 in their last 11 games and the loss ended a four-game streak for the Canadiens.
