IfEvander Kane can keep his head straight and stay out of the box and off the sidelines from suspensions, then the San Jose Sharks will have added that distinctive scoring quality to their roster.

Kane scored a natural hat trick in the first period (first for the Sharks) in a 5-2 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.
“The puck was finding my stick and I was finding the back of the net,” Kane said.
Martin Jones made 36 saves as the the Sharks have won three in a row after dropping their first four.
“[Jones] was really solid,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. “I thought that first period, it could have been 3-3. He’s given us two real good games in a row.”
Dougie Hamilton and Erik Haula scored for the Canes who dropped to 6-2-0.
“They’re the No. 1 team in the League coming in,” Kane said. “We wanted to take away their speed and I thought we did a pretty good job, especially in the second and third periods.”
Barclay Goodrow and Tomas Hertl also scored for the Sharks; Kane assisted on the Hertl goal.
“We’re moving our feet, we’re pressuring the opposition trying to force them to make plays a little quicker than they’d like to,” Goodrow said.

James Reimer had 17 saves in the loss.
“It was a challenge to come into here. We just weren’t jumping and we weren’t tenacious. That comes from being tired. Hopefully we can get some rest and try to finish this road trip off with a win,” Hamilton said.
