KALAMAZOO , Mich. – The Reading Royals dropped game one of their best-of-five series against the Kalamazoo Wings 6-5 Tuesday night and will look to regroup Wednesday in game two. The Royals held the lead on three different occasions, but the K-Wings kept charging back and ultimately took their first lead early in the third period. Reading bounced back to tie the game at 5-5 in regulation sending the game into overtime, Kalamazoo scored in over time thanks to Mathieu Curadeau 2:08 into OT. Seven goals were scored in the second period between the two teams, three by the Royals and four by the K-Wings. Royals goaltender Matt Dalton took the loss in his first professional playoff game. Ryan Nie, who went 4-0-1 against Reading during the regular season, remained unbeaten against the Royals this year. Reading scored a game-tying goal in the third period while playing with the man advantage. Reading was outshot 41-35 for the game and only had one shot in overtime. Three stars 1.
