KALAMAZOO- Erasing a third period deficit, the Kalamazoo Wings came from behind to defeat the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-3 Friday night at Wings Stadium. The five goals registered by the K-Wings were the most they have scored this season at home.

Just 3:15 later, the K-Wings answered the bell, when Ludwig Blomstrand found a streaking Gergo Nagy (4th), who skated past the Cincinnati defense and lifted the puck over Sam Brittain from the right circle.

Following a K-Wings turnover while on an odd-man rush, the Cyclones rushed down the ice and created an odd-man rush of their own. Working the puck down ice late in the period, Branden Gracel laid a centering pass to Josh McFadden for the defenseman’s fourth goal of the season

After a scoreless second period, the Cyclones would carry the one goal advantage in the final stanza.

Wasting no time to get even, the K-Wings would find the back of the net just 2:02 into the third period. Ludwig Blomstrand redirected a Joe Sova blue line slap shot for his eighth goal of the season.

Regaining the lead, Zach Budish put the Cyclones back ahead by a goal later in the period when he found room at the right circle for his eighth of the season.

Not to be outdone, the K-Wings would tie the game once again. Racing up the left side of the attack zone, Dane Fox sent a centering pass to a diving Jean Bourbeau (1st) for the deflection.

The K-Wings would take their first lead of the game and never look back, with a Sova’s first goal of the season midway in the period.

Bourbeau (2nd) tacked on his second goal of the night minutes later to cap off a three-goal outburst in a four-minute span for Kalamazoo.
