In Glendale, the Winnipeg Jets scored three goals in the third period, including two by Kyle Connor, to rally past the Coyotes for a 5-3 win.
“We didn’t point fingers, blame each other, we really came together there, and we had a good push,” Connor said. “Obviously, the way we’ve been playing, things weren’t going the right way, but we came in here really focused.”
Eric Comrie made 27 saves in the Winnipeg win.
“I just hope to get on a roll, that’s a big win,” Comrie said. “I think we’re playing fine. I think we’re right there. We’re just just not quite getting the results. … But I think we’re going to start to find some more results here, and some more success.”
Nick Ritchie and Jakob Chychrun struck for Coyotes’ goals.
Blake Wheeler‘s third period goal tied the game, 3-3, for the Jets.
“The top players have got to be the top players, we’ve got to produce,” Connor said. “We’re not where we want to be in the standings, it’s quite a daunting task, but I believe in this group. I think we can get it done.”
Barrett Hayton also scored for the Coyotes.
The Coyotes fell to 14-35-4.
“I think they dominated all the game in my opinion. We had really good goaltending keep us in the game,” Arizonahead coach Andre Tourigny said. “You can see it by the number of giveaways we had. When you don’t want to get engaged, you force the play with the puck and you turn it over and are under duress.”
Adam Lowry and Evgeny Svechnikov also scored for the Jets.
“I believe he’s playing the game the right way,” Lowry said of Connor. “He creates, he finds open space. He hunts down pucks and he usually doesn’t miss.”
Scott Wedgewood made 33 saves in the Arizona loss.
