Jets end regular season with eighth straight win Down Canucks, 4-2, Perfetti hits for double in win

In Winnipeg, the Jets won their eighth straight game to end the season, this time a 4-2 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.

Neither team had much to play for except going into the post postseason with a win.

Laurent Brossoit made 18 saves in the win.

Winnipeg ended the campaign with a record of 52-24-6.

The Canucks broke out on top with a strike by Connor Garland at 5:22 of the opening stanza. The puck deflected off Garland after an errant pass went in his direction.

The Jets replied with a marker from Gabriel Vilardi at 11:26, tying the game, 1-1, scoring after collecting a loose puck at the goal line.

The Canucks ended their season at 50-23-9.

Cole Perfetti  scored the first of a double with 55 seconds gone in the middle frame, scoring off an odd man rush.

The Canucks’ Elias Lindholm knotted the game, 2-2, at 17:11, scoring off a deflection.

Nikita Chibrikov hit for the game winner at 5:18 of the third to give the Jets a 3-2 lead.

Perfetti collected his double at 17:55 when he hit an empty net for the 4-2 final count on the scoreboard.

Thatcher Demko made 22 saves in the loss.
