Jets edge Montreal in OT, 3-2 Update to follow

In Winnipeg, the Jets’ Kyle Connor  hit for the game-winner with 1:45 gone in extra time on Thursday to defeat the Montreal Canadiens, 3-2.

Connor Hellebuyck made 20 saves in the Jets win.

The Jets improved to 6-3-1.

Montreal took a 1-0 lead in the first period off a goal from Nick Suzuki .

The Jets’ Pierre-Luc Dubois  hit off the power play late in the frame to tie the game, 1-1.

Montreal reclaimed the lead on a goal from Kirby Dach  for a 2-1 advantage.

Blake Wheeler scored to get the game tied, 2-2 late i the middle frame.

Montreal dropped to 5-5-1.

Sam Montembeault made 33 saves in the Habs loss.
