WINNIPEG – Another frightful winter day in Winnipeg as snow was falling and the weather was starting to look like winter all over the city. The Jets continued to keep it hot inside the cozy confines of the MTS Centre as they beat the visiting New Jersey Devils 3-2 and have now won five straight home games and finished the busy month of November with a 500 record after going 0 for 5 on their last road trip. It was a long busy month that finished with eight wins and eight losses.
Connor Hellebuyck stopped 23 shot in the Jets net and earned his ninth win of the season.
The Jets welcomed back a familiar face as Bryan Little was back in the line up after missing every game with a knee injury he suffered two minutes into the season opener.
Little is very important on this team and he will be a strong addition to the line up he played twenty minutes tonight and looks like he hasn’t missed anything.
Winnipeg jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second period as Mark Sheifele scored his 13th and Blake Wheeler got his eighth of the season.
The Jets dominated the second period and if it wasn’t for Corey Schneider who stopped 14 shots in the second the Jets would have run away with this one.
Miles Wood of the Devils was awarded a penalty shot in the second and his nerves must have got the best of him as he completely missed the net and this was key as they lost by one goal.
Wood made up for this when he potted his 1st goal early in the third to make it a 2-1 game.
Rookie sensation Patrik Laine who has been mired in a six game scoring drought got on the board with an absolute rocket into the top corner for his 13th of the year.
Nick Lappin made things interesting with his fourth for the Devils but they couldn’t find the equalizer in the end.
Winnipeg will look to saty hot on home ice as the Edmonton Oilers will be in town on Thursday night.
