Jarry, Pens blank Caps, 4-0 Crosby, Malkin lead Pens offense - Update to follow

In Washington, DC, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Tristan Jarry made 19 saves in a 4-0 whitewash of the Capitals on Friday night.

Sidney Crosby hit for a double in the win.

Evgeni Malkin  had a goal and four points for the Penguins.

After a scoreless first period, Malkin  hit for a goal  at 4:07 of the middle frame for a 1-0 lead to the Penguins.

The loss was a dent in the festivities for the Caps new head coach, Spencer Carbery.

Jake Guentzel collected two assists for Pittsburgh in the win.

Crosby then scored at at 5:51 off the power, and again at 11:48 of the second for a 3-0 advantage.

Reilly Smith connected at 16:57 for the 4-0 final.

Charlie Lindgren made 31 saves in the Caps loss.
