COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Saturday night, Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves for the Blue Jackets as they edged out the Detroit Red Wings, 2-1.
Boone Jenner had a goal and two points in the win.
“I’m getting back to what makes me effective and doing those things more consistently,” Jenner said. “It starts with the work habits and the rest takes care of itself.”
Cam Atkinson scored the game-winner in the second period.
Their linemate, Brandon Dubinsky, had two assists on the night.
“I’m not just singling out that line or [Bobrovsky],” Columbus coach John Tortorella said. “Our whole team game was better. We had a much greater description as far as how hard you have to play.”
Thomas Vanek had the lone Detroit goal but just missed the tying goal at the second when his shot hit iron.
Petr Mrazek was also brilliant in het for the Wings and made 37 saves in the tough loss.
“The third period we played really well. Overall, on the road, we played well, but it wasn’t the result we wanted today,” Mrazek said.

“We created enough chances to win, but also we had enough good goaltending to win,” Detroit head coach Jeff Blashill said. “In the end we didn’t come away with any points. That’s very disappointing.”
