Islanders add two

PETERBOROUGH, UK – The Peterborough Islanders are delighted to announce the addition of two more players for the remainder of the season. Callum Worthington-Evans joins the side from the successful Nottingham Lions from the English National League 1 (North). The speedy forward made his debut last weekend at Milton Keynes and the Islanders are sure he will become a big hit with the fans. A club spokesman said “Callum is a talented young player who is quick on his skates and has an eye for goal. We’re sure his experiences in the highly competitive Northern section of our league will be a real boost to the team.” The Islanders have also signed Wisbech based netminder, and Prohockeynews photographer, Rob McGregor on a permanent basis. McGregor has featured for the team several times this season already, having been called up from the local recreational team Peterborough Eagles. Upon joining the team he said “I am delighted to join the Islanders on a permanent basis. I believe this team has a huge amount of potential and the opportunity to work with someone as experience as Simon Wren will hopefully give me a chance to develop and help the side get back among the title contenders in this league again” The city side face two crunch encounters this weekend when they welcome local rivals Milton Keynes Thunder to the Peterborough Arena on Saturday (face off 6.30pm), before heading to Streatham on Sunday to face the in form Redskins.
