DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild (13-13-2-1, 29 points) defeated the Manitoba Moose (11-12-2-2, 26 points) 3-1 in front of 4,327 fans on Sunday night at Wells Fargo Arena. Forwards Sam Anas and Grayson Downing each scored first-period goals and Wild goalie Alex Stalock (8-7-2) stopped 24 of 25 shots to preserve the win and bring Iowa back to .500. Jordan Schroeder also scored a third-period goal in the win. Moose goalie Eric Comrie (6-8-2) stopped 23 of 26 shots in the loss. Iowa and Manitoba rematch on Dec. 19 at 7 PM in Des Moines. 
Wild forward Sam Anas’ fourth goal of the season started the scoring at 8:22 of the first period. The power-play goal was set up by forwards Alex Tuch and Christoph Bertschy and gave Iowa a 1-0 lead. Bertschy passed the puck from the right-wing circle to Tuch, who was behind the Manitoba net who passed it to Anas who shot the puck from the left-wing circle. Grayson Downing extended Iowa’s lead to 2-0 at 12:06 of the first period. Defenseman Zach Palmquist and forward Zack Mitchell assisted Downing’s fifth goal of the season. Downing scored off Palmquist’s shot. Moose center Patrice Cormier made it 2-1 at 17:56 of the first period. Cormier’s fourth goal of the season was set up by defensemen Peter Stoykewych and Julian Melchiori. Cormier’s shot went off an Iowa defender.
After a scoreless second period, center Jordan Schroeder made it 3-1 in favor of Iowa at 5:56 of the third period. Schroeder’s sixth goal of the season was assisted by forward Teemu Pulkkinen and defenseman Mike Reilly. The cross-ice pass from Pulkkinen set up Schroeder’s shot from the right-wing circle.
