Hogs defenseman, Carl Dahlstrom launched a shot from the right point that snuck through traffic and past Alex Stalock. DeSouza was credited with his fourth goal, tipping the shot past Stalock. Evan Mosey added an assist on the tally. The Wild countered to regain the lead at 13:57 of the second period with Cannone netting his second of the game. Iowa used an up-ice rush to set up its second goal of the evening. Defenseman Mike Reilly slid a pass to the left wing for Ryan Carter, who carried through the left-wing circle towards the goal line and flipped a pass to Cannone on the back door.
