KALAMAZOO – Trailing 2-1 in the first period, the Evansville IceMen exploded for five unanswered goals over the course of the next two and a half periods to defeat the Kalamazoo Wings 7-3 during the 15th annual Pink Ice Game and 4th annual Susan G. Komen Night presented by Eaton Corporation. 
Getting out front early, Troy Rutkowski (6th) gave the IceMen the lead 3:19 into the contest scoring with a wrister from the right circle.
Camped out in front of the IceMen’s net nearly 10 minutes later, Michael Neal (11th) recorded the equalizer on a rebound marker. Gergo Nagy assisted on Neal’s tally to extend his point streak to four games.
Over a minute later, the K-Wings jumped ahead for their lone lead of the night with a similar goal from Dane Fox (19th).
Evansville continued the scoring bonanza 1:10 later when former K-Wing Colin Murray notched his 10th goal of the season to even the game at 2-2.
Making the most of their first power-play of the night, Evansville’s Robin Soudek (17th) skated down the slot and fired a wrister off the far post and past Joel Martin, to retake the lead 3-2.
Extending their lead later in the stanza, Zack Currie utilized a screen in front of Martin for his fourth goal of the season.
Midway through the third period, the IceMen pushed their lead to three with a Jarret Lukin (10th) power play goal from just below the right circle.
Not wasting anytime to cushion their lead, Peter Sakaris scored over a minute later to make the score 6-2 with his seventh goal of the season 12:46 into the third.
Ludwig Blomstrand (16th) stopped the bleeding for the K-Wings with a goal from the slot to push his point and goal streak to four games.
Scoring into an empty-net in the final minute, Mark Anthonine (4th) recorded the game’s final goal.
The seven goals allowed and the four-goal loss both tied a season-highs for Kalamazoo.
