Rockford, IL – The Rockford IceHogs fell short against the Milwaukee Admirals 2-0 Saturday night inside the BMO Center. Milwaukee’s Matt Murray earned a 24-save shutout.
Just seven seconds into regulation, Dillon Boucher and Kyle Marino squared off at center ice. Both forwards were given game misconducts for fighting off the opening faceoff.
The Admirals finally broke the stalemate at the 9:00 mark of the 2nd period. Isaac Ratcliffe fanned on his first shot from the circle, but got his own rebound and pushed the puck under Drew Commesso.
Rockford went to the kill late in the 2nd with a holding penalty that carried over into the 3rd and gave the Ads momentum.
Ratcliffe doubled the Admirals lead halfway through the final period with his second goal of the night, a deke in tight for the 2-0 advantage.
