IceHogs’ Fight Comes Up Short, Fall 3-2 to Ads in OT

The BMO was buzzing right off the hop with three fights in the opening ten minutes. Marcel Marcel, Andrew Perrott and Taige Harding all dropped the gloves in the 1st period.

Rockford opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at the end of Milwaukee’s first power play. Jamie Engelbert disrupted the play at the defensive blue and skated in on a breakaway. The forward deked to his forehand and snapped his shot past the Admirals’ Matt Murray.

At 6:20 of the 2nd period, Tanner Molyendyk’s shot from the far circle went off of Joakim Kemell in front of Rockford goaltender Stanislav Berezhnoy to tie the game 1-1.

Halfway through the 3rd period, Ryder Rolston deflected a point shot to give the Ads a 2-1 lead. With seven minutes left in regulation, Nick Lardis led Brett Seney into the offensive zone and the captain wired the tying goal over the shoulder of Murray.

In overtime, the Admirals drew a penalty and converted on the ensuing power play. Oasiz Weisblatt scored at 1:59 of OT to give Milwaukee the extra point.

Up next, the Rockford travels to Milwaukee to take on the Admirals on Sunday, November 30 with a 4:00 p.m. puck drop from Panther Arena.
