PENSACOLA, FL – The Pensacola Ice Flyers fell 5-2 to the Huntsville Havoc on Friday night. The Ice Flyers goals were scored by Brian Bowen and Brett D’Andrea. The Havoc goals were scored by Derek Perl, Rob Darrar and Ryan Salkeld. Connor Schmidt scored twice.
Brian Bowen tallied his third goal of the season on the power play at 11:28 in the first. He was assisted by Nathan Bruyere and Ryan Marcuz. Less than four minutes later at 15:14 Brett D’Andrea scored on a pass from Brant Sherwood. It was his first professional goal.
Derek Perl put Huntsville on the board with an unassisted goal at 9:24 in the second. Rob Darrar tied the game at 13:12. He was assisted by Brad Kobryn and Trever Gerling. At 16:36 Connor Schmidt scored on the power play with assists coming from Christian Powers and Nolan Kaiser. Peter Sikalis and Stephen Hrehoriak assisted on Ryan Salkeld’s goal 49 seconds later. A minute and a half later Connor Schmidt scored the fifth unanswered goal for the Havoc. He was assisted by Nolan Kaiser and Sy Nutkevitch.
Neither team was able to score in the second. The Ice Flyers outshot the Havoc 9 to 5.
