PENSACOLA, FL – The Pensacola Ice Flyers fell 2-1 to the Huntsville Havoc on Hero and Princess Night. The lone goal for the Ice Flyers was scored by Matt Johnson, his first of the season. The two Huntsville goals were scored by Zach Nieminen and Rob Darrar.
Just 48 seconds into the first period, Huntsville’s Zach Nieminen scored on a pass from Rob Darrar. At 15:28 Matt Johnson scored on the power play. He was assisted by Jesse Kessler and Nathan Bruyere.
Neither team was able to score in the second. The Ice Flyers outshot the Havoc 14 to 9.
Rob Darrar scored at 9:38 of the third period on the power play with assists coming from Trevor Gerling and Derek Perl. The Havoc outshot the Ice Flyers 16 to 15.
