QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Tomas Hyka, Anthony Duclair and Etienne Marcoux respectively of the Gatineau Olympiques, Quebec Remparts and Blainville-Boisbriand earned the Telus three stars of the week for February 27 to March 4 2012.
Totaling 9 points with 2 goals 7 assists, the Gatineau Olympiques right winger earned the Telus first star. Being designated as the third stars of the game against Halifax on last Wednesday February 29, Hyka scores the first of only two team goals in a 6-2 loss against Halifax. Facing the Drummondville Voltigeurs on March 2nd the Olympiques right winger ended the game with 3 points scoring another goal in a 4-3 overtime win being named the second stars of the game.
In the rematch against the same Drummondville team, the Czech Republic native registered 4 assists for second time of the year in an 8-2 win.
The Telus second star went to Quebec left winger Anthony Duclair reaching 60 points in 63 games as 16 years old rookie. The Montreal native opened his week scoring his 25th goal and 2 assists in a 9-2 triumph against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar being named the first star.
Facing the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Sunday afternoon, the Quebec third round selection 41st overall in 2011 ended his game scoring 1 goal adding 2 other assists totaling 60 points in 63 games.
Blainville-Boisbriand goaltender Etienne Marcoux earned the third star of the week beginning with a 29 saves performance in a 6-2 win against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Facing the Chicoutimi Sagueneens on Saturday the la Plaine Quebec native made 18 saves in a 5-0 shutout victory ending his week with a goal against average of 1,00 and save percentage of 0.959.
