PHILADELPHIA – On Monday night the St Louis Blues’ Carter Hutton made 26 saves to backstop the Blues to a 2-0 win over the Flyers.
“I think we’ve lost some games where we’ve been out-chancing teams and getting our chances, and they come down and capitalize on their chance. Nice to flip the script,” Hutton said.
The Blues got a boost on offense from recent call-up, Kenny Agostino, who scored on a breakaway in the third period to give St Louis a little cushion down the stretch.
“It was a broken play inside the blue line,” Agostino said. “[David Perron] just sprung me, great pass, had a lot of time. I saw, looked like [Neuvirth] was shooting a little bit to the left, so I went top right, and it worked out.”
Agostino was playing in the American Hockey League for the Chicago Wolves and played in his first NHL game since March of 2015.
“You never expect it,” Agostino said. “You learn in this business you always have to be ready. I was happy to get [the call-up] and happy to be here.”

St Louis took a 1-0 lead late in the second period on a goal from Kevin Shattenkirk.
For Hutton, the shutout was his second in three starts.
The Flyers suffered their second straight shutout after being blanked by the Los Angeles Kings over the weekend.
“We know what we got on the power play, we just have to make sure we execute things better,” Flyers forward Jakub Voracek said. “Sometimes teams play a different style of killing. Usually that’s the first power play when they play something different. Try to get used to it, but then the second and third one should be better. We get a goal on the power play, it’s a different game.”
Michal Neuvirth took the loss on 14 saves as the Flyers dropped to 26-21-7.
