Husso, Red Wings blank Montreal, 3-0 Update to follow

In Detroit, Ville Husso made 29 saves and the Red Wings shut out the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night, 3-.0.

Elmer Soderblom scored early in the third period to give the Red Wings a 1-0 lead after a scoreless first two periods.

With less than two minutes left in the game, Michael Rasmussen, who had three points on the night, hit an empty-net goal for a 2-0 lead to Detroit.

Olli Maatta added a second empty-net goal for the 3-0 final with 48 seconds left on the clock.

Oskar Sundqvist had two assists picked up two assists for the Red Wings.

Jake Allen made 37 saves in the loss.
