ANNAPOLIS, MD: On Friday night, October 22, it was the Navy Midshipmen defeating the West Chester University Golden Rams 7-1 in their D1 matchup. It was the first of two games at McMullen Arena, with the Navy D3 men taking on the University of Maryland’s D3 team following the D1 game. 
Thomas Krisztinicz opened the scoring for Navy with 18:38 remaining in the first. Less than two minutes later, Navy’s Jacob Barberio would extend the lead with an assist from Joe Doherty. Alexandre Pellatier would score a power play goal for West Chester with 9:15 remaining. Joey Kubachka got the assist on the Pelletier goal.
The second period would see Navy score a short-handed goal with 8:11 remaining. Jack Burke would get the goal, with the assist from Brendan Reynolds. Navy again tallied with 3:13 remaining with Evan Adams scoring, assist from Anders Gulbrandson. The second period would end with Navy enjoying a 4-1 lead.
Navy would put the game away with three goals in the third period. The first of the goals came just twenty-six seconds into the period. It was Adam’s again with the goal, and Mike Rockovich picking up the assist. Nick Aown would score at the midway point of the period with Burke getting the helper. Team Captain Brendan Reynolds would finish the scoring for Navy on the power play with 8:47 remaining. The assist on the Reynolds goal would belong to Nathan Hyden.
Charles Doherty would get the win in net for the Midshipmen, making 27 saves on 28 shots. John Kelly would make 38 saves on 45 shots before being replaced by Joey Kubachka in the third for West Chester. Kubachka would make three saves on the three shots he faced.
Navy was home again on Saturday night and picked up another victory to start the ECHA conference schedule.
