TULSA, Okla. – Wichita and Tulsa have played in some low scoring, tight contests this season. Saturdaynight’s meeting was far from that as the Oilers claimed a 6-4 victory over the Thunder at the BOK Center. Wichita fought back late with two-third period goals only to see Tulsa answer with two more down the stretch. TheThunder drops to 3-3-0-3 in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series.

In the second, Wichita received an early power play and cashed in with a goal from Landon Oslanski at 38 seconds that gave the Thunder a 2-1 advantage. Tulsa jumped out to a two-goal advantage, scoring three times in six minutes to take a 4-2 lead. DeSalvo punched home a power play goal at 1:19 to tie it at two. Dennis Brown gave the Oilers their first lead with his third of the season at 5:02. Christophe Lalancette added another at 6:32 for a 4-2 lead. 1-0 lead with a wrist shot from the slot at 7:29. The Oilers pulled even with 28 seconds left in the frame as Dan DeSalvo scored his first of two in the contest.
Wichita fought back into the contest with two third-period goals. Kerbashian scored from the top of the left circle to make it 4-3. At 12:29, Reum blasted one through Matt Grogan from the right circle and tied it at four. The Oilers re-took the lead just over two minutes later as Emerson Clark got open down the left seam and beat Rollheiser to make it 5-4. Phil Brewer tacked on an empty-netter at 18:19 that finished the scoring with Tulsa taking a 6-4 victory.
Kerbashian finished with a goal and an assist to lead the way for the Thunder. Lowe had two assists. Isackson recorded his first goal in a Thunder uniform. Rollheiser suffers the loss, stopping 39 of 44 shots. Grogan earns the victory, stopping 30 of 34 shots he faced.
Both teams were 1-for-4 on the power play.
The Thunder returns home on Tuesday night to host the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 p.m.
