Hershey tops Phantoms, 4-2

PHILADELPHIA, Pa- The Hershey Bears defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms 4-2 in game one of their best-of-seven series. Andrew Gordon and Kyle Wilson each had a goal an an assist while Michal Neuvirth recorded 30 saves to give the Bears the edge in the series. Gordon opened the scoring at the 15:18 mark of the first period. Jonathan Matsumoto evened the contest for Philadelphia at 3:21 of the second stanza. Wilson notched his goal a minute and a half into the third period. Exactly four minutes later, Oskar Osala gave the Bears a two-goal cuhsion. Lasse Kukkonen cut the gap to one with an assist going to Matsumoto. Jay Beagle ended the scoring at the 18:02 mark to seal the deal for Hershey. Philadelphia went a dismal 0 for 7 on the power play. The two teams next meet in Philadelphia on Saturday evening, Games three, four and five (if needed) will be played in Hershey.
