HERSHEY, PA – Hershey Bears scored four goals in the second period to propel the team to a 6-4 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack in Game Two of their Eastern Conference Semifinal playoff series. Tim Kennedy and Jim O’Brien scored two goals apiece and Nate Schmidt had a three point night to lead the Bears.
Philipp Grubauer allows four goals on 17 shots and was pulled in favor of Phoenix Copley who came in to make nine saves on nine shots. Yann Denis made 23 saves on 28 shots for the Wolf Pack. Despite scoring the first goal of the game Hershey allowed the games next three goals including one by ex-Bear Chris Bourque on the power play scoring all three goals in the first period for a 3-1 lead.
Jakub Vrana, the Washington Capitals first round pick in 2014, also had a goal while Hartford got goals from four different goal scorers. Both teams scored once on the power play and went a combined two of seven on the night.
The series switches to Massachusetts for Games Three and Four to be played in Worcester, Ma at the DCU Center due to scheduling conflicts at the XL Center in Hartford. If there is a Game Six it will be played in Hartford.
