In Anaheim, the Ducks blew a two-goal lead in the third period to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.
Adam Henrique rescued the Ducks with a goal at the three minute mark of extra time for a 6-5 win.
Trevor Zegras set up the winner.
“Such a great unselfish play by [Zegras],” Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. “There’s a young man looking for his first (NHL) goal and instead of wiring it, he makes the play backdoor to win the game.”
John Gibson made 21 saves in the win.
Andreas Athanasiou had a goal in the third period for the Kings when they scored twice to rally back from a 3-5 deficit.
Adrian Kempe scored a hat trick, his third goal of the trick forced the extra session late in the third period.
“Tonight, we’re really disappointed with the mistakes,” Kings head coach Todd McLellan said. “Six goals against is your answer. We had some dismal performances by some individuals, yet there were others that had great games.”
Rickard Rakell had two goals for the Ducks.
“He’s just slowly been chipping away at it,” Eakins said. “Ricky was very, very upset. He takes it personally. He’s got really high standards for himself and, for whatever reason, that puck wasn’t going in the net for him early.”
Ben Hutton and Kevin Shattenkirk also scored for the Ducks.
“It feels really good to be on the winning side these last two games,” Rakell said. “Hopefully, we can just keep it going.”
Jakob Silfverberg had a shorthanded goal for Anaheim.
Dustin Brown had a power play goal for the Kings.
“We weren’t really on our toes early,” Kempe said. “I think that’s something we’ve got to clean up and get better at, especially the last couple games. A good team will come from behind, but we have to learn to have a good start and play with a lead as well.”
Calvin Petersen made 19 saves in the loss.
