In Newark, Adam Henrique hit for a hat trick on Sunday to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-1 thrashing of the Devils.

John Gibson made 18 saves for the win.

Anaheim moved to 11-19-0.

Henrique hit for the first two goals of the game in the second period.

His first was off the power play at 1:46 for a 1-0 lead to the Ducks.

The goal came off a tip in of a shot from the blue line.

The double was scored at 11:17 of the middle frame for a 2-0 advantage, this Henrique received a shot pass to deflect it home.

New Jersey dropped to 16-12-1.

New Jersey replied with their lone strike of the game with 42 seconds left in the second period when Michael McLeod put home a rebound for a 2-1 score headed to the third period.

In the third, ANaheim continued with their pressure on both ends of the ice, scoring three times and shutting the New Jersey offense down.

The Ducks were the faster team for 60 minutes.

Alex Killorn hit at 4:14 of the third to push the lead back to two, at 3-1 for the Ducks.

Killorn camped out at the fat post and tapped home the puck.

Troy Terry stopped a New Jersey effort in the defensive zone and then trailed the play, picking up a pass and firing a wrist shot home for a 4-1 lead midway through the frame.

Henrique picked up his hat trick off a shorthanded, empty-net wrist shot from the New Jersey blie line for the 5-final count.

Akira Schmid made 23 saves in the loss.
