Heartlanders fail to hook Walleye

CORALVILLE, IA – Jack Billings scored his third of the season, but the Iowa Heartlanders suffered a 10-1 loss to the Toledo Walleye Friday at Xtream Arena. Billings leads the Heartlanders with six points (3 goals) this season, ranking top-five in the ECHL. On Billings’ power-play marker, he stood net front, waited patiently for Billy Constantinou’s shot to bounce off Kaden Fulcher’s pads, and then deposited the puck.The Heartlanders have a rematch with the Walleye Saturday at 7 p.m. for a Halloween Spooktacular; the best costume in attendance wins a Heartlanders goodie bag.

The Walleye scored six times in the second period over a 5:53 span. John Albert netted his first Walleye hat trick and Brett McKenzie scored two goals in the game.

The Heartlanders finished 1-for-2 on the man advantage and have three power-play goals this season.

Following the home game Saturday, the Heartlanders are next at home on Friday, November 12th vs. Indy.
