Hayes targets success with Stingrays

New Canadian forward Jeff Hayes believes Rapid Solicitors Hull Stingrays’ style of play will suit him after signing for the 2015/16 Elite League campaign.
The 26-year-old native of Ottawa, Ontario, has spent the last five years in the CIS with Carleton University, posting 155 points (63 goals and 92 assists) in 150 regular-season and play-off games.
Before that he had five seasons in the OHL, icing for Guelph Storm and Oshawa Generals, totalling 98 points (43 goals and 55 assists) in 268 matches.Hull Stingrays logo
Hayes said: “I am thrilled to make the move to Hull. I have always lived in Canada so I am excited to experience the culture of the UK and can’t wait to get there.
“I have always wanted to play pro in Europe after I finished University. The UK has always been appealing and after speaking with some guys that have played there before I knew it was a place I wanted to come to.
“I’m really excited for my first pro season in Hull and I’m looking forward to building off their great play-off run they had last season.
“I like to consider myself to be a two-way player. I work hard and I use my speed to create offence.
“I have heard nothing but good things about the Stingrays and the city of Hull. Upon speaking with Omar Pacha, I think the Stingrays’ style of play, being quick on the transition, will really fit well with how I play.
“I’m just really excited to get over there and start the season. Hopefully I can contribute to the team’s success this year and help us be competitive every night.”
