Gulls Stop Silver Knights Streak with 6-3 Win

The San Diego Gulls defeated the Henderson Silver Knights tonight 6-3, ending the Silver Knights’ seven game winning streak. This marks the Gulls’ first win over the Silver Knights this season as well as their highest scoring game yet.

Slayed the Silver Knights

Nikolas Brouillard opened the scoring up in the first period with his first goal and second point of the season. Yegor Sidorov assisted with the goal, extending his point-streak to five games along with Matthew Phillips who extended his to four.

Defenseman Tristan Luneau continued the action, burying one for his second goal of the season, both being against the Silver Knights. Sidorov got his hands on this puck too, bringing his assist count to four.

Just one minute and eight seconds later, Jan Mysak delivered the puck to Sasha Pastujov for his second goal of the season, bringing the Gulls lead up to 3-0.

The Silver Knights answered back with two goals to end the first frame.

Justin Bailey extended the lead in the middle frame after finding the back of the net for his second time this season. Mysak and Pastujov helped out, giving them both two points for the night.

With just five minutes left in the third period, Sidorov put one away to log a three-point night, matching his AHL career high. The 21-year-old forward has now recorded seven points in his five-game point streak (4-3=7). Brouillard and Phillips were the helpers on the goal, giving them both multi-point nights.

Nico Myatovic found the net on a powerplay goal for his first of the season with only one minute and seven seconds left in the game. Brouillard was credited as the assist, bringing his points for the night up to three, his highest this season.

Goaltender Ville Husso saved 18 shots, proving how essential he is for San Diego once again.
