San Diego consistently held a lead in shots on goal throughout the entirety of the game. The Gulls put up a total 53 shots, breaking the team’s previous AHL record of 50 which had been set three times prior. The Gulls put up 50-plus shots in both games against Calgary this weekend, the first time in team history recording 50 shots in back-to-back games.
The game saw Ville Husso back in the net as he returned to the Gulls after spending some time in the NHL. The goaltender saved 18-of-20 shots, keeping the game close throughout.
