Guildford take second leg, into Cup semi round

A couple of early Flames goals put them in an aggregate lead that would be more than enough to advance to the Cup semi final round after a 3-2 leg 2 win on home ice over Fife Flyers that secures a 6-3 score across the 2 game set.

Late 1st period goals by Steven McParland and Ryan Tait extended Flames aggregate lead to 5-1, closing the opening set with a 2-0 lead on the night.

At the 33 minute mark, Peter Crinella made it a 3 goal spread, but Kyle Osterberg’s reply for Fife at 34:15 pulled one back and the 3-1 game score meant Flames enjoyed a 6-2 series combined count through 40 minutes.

In the 3rd, Flyers had the only marker when Vitalijs Pavlovs was on target inside the last 10 minutes on the powerplay, but it was a cosmetic adjustment to the game score and the overall aggregate final.Â
