Game Story
The Newfoundland Growlers fell 4-1 to the Trois-Rivières Lions in their first road game of the season on Friday night at the Colisèe Vidèotron.
Nolan Yaremko opened the scoring midway through the first period with a shorthanded snipe to put Trois-Rivières up 1-0 before Neil Shea got things back to level with a great power move to make it 1-1 after the first period of play.
Trois-Rivières took over in the second period as Matthew Boucher, Anthony Beauregard and Markuss Komuls rang off three straight goals from the hosts to put the Lions up 4-1 going into the third.
Despite a decent third period push from the Growlers, goaltender Joe Vrbetic stood tall to help the Lions hold on for a 4-1 victory.
