GLENS FALLS, NY – The Newfoundland Growlers took a 2-1 series lead over the Adirondack Thunder thanks to an 7-1 Game Three win on Saturday evening at Cool Insuring Arena.
It took ten minutes for the floodgates to open to start the first period before Nolan Walker, Todd Skirving and Zach O’Brien quickly found the net to make it 3-0 Newfoundland after 20 minutes.
Isaac Johnson nabbed a quick pair in the first six minutes of the middle frame to make it 5-0 Growlers.
Michael Joyaux brought it to six with 6:43 left in the 2nd before Patrick Grasso got the Thunder on the board and Keenan Suthers saw it go to 7-1 Growlers heading into the second intermission.
Dryden McKay stopped all 11 shots he faced in the third and 32/33 overall to help Newfoundland hang on for a 7-1 victory.
Five Growlers had multi-point nights.
Isaac Johnson had two goals, two assists and eight SOG.
Newfoundland host Adirondack on Tuesday night at 7pm NST for Game Four.
