GROWLERS MUTE MARINERS 4-2

The Newfoundland Growlers held off the Maine Mariners 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Mary Brown’s Centre.
Ty Voit and Tyler Weiss both found the back of the net inside the opening 10 minutes to give the Growlers a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
After Jordan Escott made it 3-0 five minutes into the middle frame, Maine got a pair of goals through Jimmy Lambert and Brookyln Kalmikov to close the period and get the Mariners within one going into the third.
Matt Brassard restored the Growlers two goal lead with 12:28 left in regulation as he made it 4-2 on the 2-on-1 snipe. Newfoundland would hold on for a 4-2 final.
