Growlers lay out Lions, 6-3

TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec – The Newfoundland Growlers extended their win streak to four games with a come from behind 6-3 victory over the Trois-Riviéres Lions on Friday night at the Colisée Vidéotron.

Orrin Centazzo got the first of five combined goals between the two teams for the visiting Growlers inside three minutes before Lions forward Anthony Beauregard replied just five minutes later.

After Zach O’Brien and Ryan Francis traded goals within two minutes of each other, Nicolas Guay grabbed a third Lions goal in the opening period to put Trois-Riviéres up 3-2 after the 1st.

Slow to show any signs of offence in period two, the Growlers notched a pair of goals in quick succession late in the middle frame through Axel Rindell and Tyler Boland – the former scoring his first with the team – to take a 4-3 lead into the third.

Isaac Johnson doubled the visitors advantage just a minute into the 3rd with a tight angle finish at 4-on-4 before adding another moments later on the penalty kill to make it a 6-3 Newfoundland final.
