Grizzlies score late to beat Idaho 2-1

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies scored two goals in the third period, including the game-winner with 39 seconds left, to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat the Idaho Steelheads 2-1 Friday night in Boise.

“Great team effort, we found a way to win,” said Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham.  “Ryan Misiak (one goal, one assist), Ryan Olsen (one goal) and Ryan Walters (two assists) were good and Kevin Carr was outstanding.”
Utah goaltender Kevin Carr stopped 38 of 39 shots, including 16 in the third period and 29 in the final 40 minutes. The Grizzlies killed a penalty in the third period to hold the 1-1 tie.
Ryan Misiak (4) tied the game crashing the net on a backhand from Ryan Walters and Mitch Jones 4:13 into the third period to tie the game after Idaho scored the first goal of the game on their 23rd shot with 54 seconds left in the second period.
Ryan Olsen scored the game-winner with 39 seconds left from Walters and Misiak off of a late face-off following an Idaho icing.
