TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Oilers broke open a scoreless tie through two periods and defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-0 Sunday afternoon at BOK Center.
The Oilers improved to 9-2 and to 7-0 at home in the game. Utah dropped to 6-4 as they return to Maverik Center Friday and Saturday atop the Mountain Division.
Utah controlled the action and held a 19-7 edge on the shot board through 30 minutes before the energy started running low as they wrapped up three games in three days and four games in five days.
Grizzlies goaltender Ryan Faragher (5-2) stopped 30 of 32 shots in the contest as Tulsa broke through with two goals in the first 6:36 of the third period and then added a late empty-net goal.
Tulsa goaltender Jamie Phillips improved to 9-0 as he stopped all 30 looks from the Grizzlies.
