Gourde, Marcoux and Dubeau earned QMJHL Telus three stars of the week

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — Yanni Gourde, Etienne Marcoux and Alex Dubeau respectively of the Victoriaville Tigres, Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and the Shawinigan Cataractes earned the QMJHL Telus three stars for the period of December 5th to 11th.
 
Collecting 9 points over two games the Victoriaville Tigres left winger earned the first star. Currently leading the scorer with 62 points the left winger ended Friday night game against Rimouski with four points scoring the game winning goal in a 5-3 victory over the Oceanic.
 
In a game against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, Gourde recorded 5 points scoring 1 goal in a 8-7 shootout loss.
 
The second star went to Blainville-Boisbriand goaltender Etienne Marcoux. Blocking 13 shots against Val-d’Or the Armada netminder earned his 10th victories in a 6-1 win against the Foreurs on Friday. Facing the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on Saturday Marcoux had earned the first stars of the games making 30 saves in a 7-0 shutout victory.
 
Out of the lineup due to injury since the season began, the Armada netminder kept one of the best records in the league, 11-3-1-0, with a 2.54 goal against average and a save percentage of .911. Marcoux ended his week winning both games with a save percentage of .977.
 
The Shawinigan Cataractes goaltender Alex Dubeau earned the third star allowing only one goal on 15 shots in last 44 minutes after filling in when his team trailed 2-0. The Mascouche Quebec native earned the first stars in 3-0 shutout victory against the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
 
On Sunday, the Cataractes netminder recorded another shutout this time by the score of 5-0 for the second longest streak for the consecutive minutes without allowing a goal in the history of the franchise with 158.01. The team record is 207.04 in March 1998.
