SHEFFIELD, U.K.- Ukrainian defenceman, Pavel Gomeniuk, has returned to the Sheffield Steeldogs for a second season after an influential 2011/12 campaign.
As one of the veterans of the side, Gomeniuk lead the Steeldogs defence and was the team’s third top points scorer overall. The 34 year old recorded a total of 44 points, with 11 goals, 33 assists and 169 penalty minutes.
After moving from the Ukraine to the U.K. in 2002, Gomeniuk has played for Solihull Kings in BNL and the Hull Stringrays and the Newcastle Vipers in the Elite League. The powerful defenceman also helped the Manchester Phoenix win the EPL League Title in 2010/11.
Both Steeldogs player/coach, Andre Payette, and owner, Shane Smith, were delighted the Ukrainian has returned for a second season.
