On Thursday night, four different skaters had goals for the Ducks in a 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks in Anaheim.
John Gibson made 37 saves for the shutout, his sixth of the campaign.“[Gibson] played outstanding,” Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle said. “We left him high and dry in some situations, and he made some big stops for us.”
The Ducks goals were courtesy of Corey Perry, Chris Wagner, Ryan Kesler and Rickard Rakell.
Anaheim is on a remarkable 8-0-2 run that has them moving from nine points back of the Pacific lead to a four point cushion.
They can clinch the division title with a win over the Los Angeles Kings Saturday.
With nothing to play for, the Hawks rested a number of regulars.
“We’re coming back Saturday with one more game,” Chicago head coach Joel Quenneville said. “We’ll try to do the right things and get ready.”
Gibson noted the Chicago lineup after the game.
“They had some chances, but they had some guys out, so it was a little bit different than we’re used to,”  Gibson said.
