Belfast Giants ended their 3-in-3 with their third win of the weekend, comfortably beating Dundee Stars in Scotland.
Spencer Naas put Dundee on the board first at 03:57, the Stars’ first goal in over 123 minutes of play, with a shot from the right circle which deflected off of a Giants’ skate and past Alexis Gravel.
Belfast equalised at 10:39 through David Goodwin, who carried the puck into the Stars’ zone and fired a backhand to beat Emil Kruse.
Gabe Bast gave the Giants their first lead of the night at 24:14, blasting a shot from the blueline past Kruse on the powerplay.
Jake Gaudet made it 3-1 in the closing minute of the second period, poking home a loose puck after Kruse had made an initial save at 39:20.
The Giants added a fourth goal just thirty-four seconds into the third period, with Nicolas Guay firing a shot from the high slot above the glove of Kruse.
J.J. Piccinich made it 5-1 at 50:58, slipping behind the Stars’ defense and sliding the puck between the pads of Kruse.
Ben Lake fed a pass from behind the Stars’ net to Ryan Smith, who fired the puck past Kruse to make it 6-1 at 52:41. Kruse was pulled and the Stars called a time-out, but it was too late for any sort of comeback.
