Belfast Giants blanked Fife Flyers 6-0 at the SSE Arena, jumping out to a three-goal first period and never looking back.
Scott Conway opened the scoring at 4:01, finishing a feed from Marcus Eriksson after being sent through on Christian Purboo. Jordan Kawaguchi doubled the lead at 13:39 when he opted to shoot rather than pass to Jake Gaudet, firing past the Flyers’ goalie. Conway struck again at 16:24 to give the Giants a healthy 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes.
The Giants’ powerplay added a fourth when JJ Piccinich went bar down at 31:10.In the third, Patrick Grasso made it 5-0 at 48:14 with a finish in close, while Ryan Smith capped the night with a powerplay marker at 51:58, again set up by strong work from Eriksson.
Jackson Whistle recorded the shutout with 15 saves as Belfast claimed a comprehensive home victory.
