“It was a full team performance, from Jackson [Whistle] in net to the defense and the forwards, it was a full team performance,” said Mike Lee. “Gaining control in the game is what we wanted to do, so once we got that momentum and sustaining offensive zone time, it’s tough to play against us.”

Belfast struck first through Gabe Bast at 15:57. Despite Emil Kruse making an initial save on a shot from Marcus Eriksson, Bast was first to the rebound and put it home to make it 1-0

David Goodwin made it 2-0 just sixty six seconds later at 17:03, crashing the net and finishing a strong individual effort from Mike Lee.

Hampus Olsson had Dundee’s best chance of the period, breaking in alone late against Jackson Whistle. However, the Giants netminder stood tall, and the score remained 2-0 heading into the first intermission.

Spencer Naas scored the lone goal of a feisty second period, converting on the league’s top-ranked powerplay at 34:10 with a wrist shot from the point past Whistle.

Jake Gaudet restored the two-goal lead for the Giants just thirteen seconds into the third period, pouncing on a faceoff win by Nicolas Guay and firing a shot past Kruse at 40:13.

Jordan Kawaguchi sealed the win with a fourth goal at 49:14 on the powerplay, redirecting the puck past Kruse after some quick passing on the rush.

“Our powerplay has been great, so I’m getting a lot of points there,” added Lee. “Overall we have a lot of great players, so when you have that you tend to get some points.”
